Hi, I’m Steph, a qualified and experienced person-centred counsellor dedicated to providing mental health support for individuals facing a range of challenges, including traumatic experiences, bereavement, grief and loss, addiction, emotional regulation, and managing conditions such as depression, anxiety, and social anxiety. I have a strong background working with neurodivergent clients, particularly those with ADHD, Autism, and Dyslexia. Additionally, I am passionate about offering LGBTQ support, ensuring a safe and welcoming space for everyone.
As a fully qualified therapeutic counsellor, I am fully insured and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), holding a live DBS certificate to guarantee a professional and safe service. Life can feel overwhelming at times, and navigating through difficult emotions and circumstances can be challenging. I started my counselling journey to create a space where people could feel heard and supported, regardless of what they are going through.
As an integrative counsellor, I take into account all factors contributing to your emotional and psychological well-being. I believe therapy should be personalised, and I tailor my methods to meet your unique needs. I view you as an active participant in the therapy process, and together we will explore and develop coping strategies that work for you. The therapeutic relationship is central to my practice, and I am committed to creating a caring, empathic environment where you can feel understood and supported in your growth and healing.

ADHD & Neurodivergence: Supporting individuals with ADHD, Autism, Dyslexia, and other neurodivergent conditions by providing tailored strategies to manage daily challenges and promote positive well-being through effective mental health support. Anxiety: Assisting clients in navigating the complexities of anxiety, including social anxiety, general anxiety disorder, and panic attacks, with tools to manage symptoms and regain a sense of control. Depression: Offering guidance for those struggling with depression, supporting them in managing low moods, self-worth, and discovering ways to enhance mental health and emotional resilience. Grief & Loss: Assisting clients through grief and loss, regardless of the type of loss experienced. Bereavement: Offering guidance through the emotional pain of losing a loved one and helping individuals navigate a new path, exploring what that journey might entail. LGBTQ/GSRD Support: Creating a safe and affirming space for LGBTQ+ individuals to explore their emotions, identity, and experiences, while addressing challenges such as acceptance, discrimination, and personal growth. Diagnosis & Life Transitions: Supporting clients who are adjusting to or struggling with a diagnosis, helping them navigate the emotional impact and find a way forward during life transitions. Cancer: Providing emotional support for individuals affected by cancer, whether it’s through diagnosis, treatment, or adjusting to life with or supporting someone battling cancer, all within a therapeutic relationship.

Counselling offers a safe space to explore any experiences or challenges that may be causing you distress. As your counsellor, my role is to listen with empathy, understand your unique experiences, and support you in finding your own solutions or alternative ways of thinking. Providing a compassionate, non-judgmental environment where you can freely express and explore your feelings and emotions. I will give you the time and space to process your feelings and move toward your goals in a time that feels comfortable to you.
Confidentiality is a key part of the counselling process, ensuring you feel safe and comfortable sharing your thoughts and feelings. However, there are a few exceptions to confidentiality that we will discuss during our introduction. I, like all counsellors, regularly meet with a supervisor to ensure I am providing the best support to clients. During supervision no identifiable information is shared. If you disclose you or someone else is at risk of direct harm, I may need to inform the relevant authorities, though I would always try to discuss this with you first. Additionally, if there are any concerns related to illegal activities such as money laundering or terrorism, I am legally required to report this. These exceptions are in place to ensure your safety and well-being.
Our first session is an introduction and opportunity for us to get to know each other and determine if I am the right counsellor for you. This session lasts 15-20 minutes and is free of charge, as my priority is to ensure you feel comfortable working with me.
In subsequent sessions, we will use integrative techniques, combining different methods to find what works best for you. Each session will be tailored to your needs, with the first few minutes dedicated to revisiting confidentiality before moving on to your concerns. The aim is to provide a flexible and supportive environment where you can explore your feelings and work towards meaningful solutions.
Sessions are priced at a minimum fee of £35.00 per session. The initial telephone consultation is free of charge.
